NEET as we all are aware is a MCQ based test where students technically get 1 minute to solve 1 question. What comes into play here is how quickly one is with his/her reflexes in reading the questions, comprehending, recalling learned concepts, application of acquired knowledge and hence its execution, all this within a minute. Quicker reflexes require rigorous practice, routine study plans, and meticulous revisions.
In the exam hall, students are bound to face the typical pitfalls, but her confidence is the key, immensely helping students to prevent from committing mistakes. Think of this, does the topper of the exam know answers to all questions or he is just lucky in answering, picking correct options mostly? Would he get the same marks if he attempts the same paper again? Possibly not. If not, what is the factor differentiating other students from the topper? - Refrain from overthinking – It is human tendency to think that there must be some twist even in a simple question that is asked. That is not always true. Remember, NEET question paper has a couple of easy questions too.
- It is very unlikely that an option you never heard about turns out to be the answer to a certain question. When facing a challenging question, you would be fixed between 2 of the options while completely ruling out the other two. In this case, do not go for the unheard option just because you are not backed with enough information. But for questions – which of these is “NOT” type, pick the odd one out
- Do not land up getting confused by changing your responses over and over. Stay focused not confused
- Many times it so happens that we intuitively come up with an answer even before finishing the question but once we read the options, get confused. In this case, one can either mark the option which first occurred to his mind or solve it towards the end as in this case, one usually ends up marking the same option which occurred first
- Do not get to analyzing each and every question with hopes of zero percent error, you will not be able to complete the paper. The typical margin that is accepted for error comes up to 10%. Therefore, solve the simpler ones first, those which are straightforward and direct, not requiring extra thinking.
- Mistakes are inevitable in the exam, aim for perfection but do not expect it.
All in all, know that the best of the tips is to know the correct answer for which preparation, as mentioned, must be to the point and full-proof.
