Does Ratsak expire?
Rat poison does expire and degrade because it is typically made from organic materials with a shelf life. Even so, rat poison may remain potent after expiration but will slowly become less effective through time.
Do you open rat poison sachets?
The sachets are to be placed as they are, mice or rats will eat through the sachet to eatthe contents. DO NOT OPEN SACHETS.
Can you still buy decon pellets?
Retailers have been permitted keep the products on the shelves until stocks are depleted. The EPA says it will continue to be legal for consumers to use the 12 d-CON mouse and rat poison products until depleted, provided they follow all label directions and precautions.

Though the poison will still be effective if there is a mushy breakdown from moisture or it gets white with some house molds you will need to dispose of the old poison at that time. Expired mouse poison doesn’t make it any less poisonous, it just means that mice won’t come to the poison anymore.
