The easiest way to give your dog a pill is to hide the pill in food. This usually works best if you hide it in a special treat such as a small amount of canned dog food, peanut butter, or cheese. Soft treats are also available that can be used to hide the pill by molding the treat around it (e.g., Pill Pockets™).
How do you hide pills for picky dogs?
You can simply hide the pill in:
a dab of peanut butter—please make sure that xylitol is not on the ingredient list!
plain yogurt.

Can you crush dog worming tablets?
If tablets are the best option, consider crushing them up into your pets food. Check with your vet that it is safe to do this as some tablets don’t work as well if they’re crushed and some must be given on an empty tummy.
How long does it take for pill to dissolve in dog?
Whether or not a dose should be given again depends on how long after you gave the medication the animal vomited. Typically, most drugs are absorbed within 20-30 minutes after given by mouth.
Can I crush up my dogs pills?
Can I just crush it up in their food? If you’ve tried both methods in the video and you still can’t get your dog to swallow the pill, then crushing it up in their food is often a great last resort (but best ask your vets advice first as some medications cannot be crushed).
Can I give my dog medication an hour late?
In most cases, dogs are okay if they miss their meds. It is usually better to give them their dose, even if it’s a bit late. However, older dogs and dogs with serious medical conditions should miss their medication as little as possible.
Do I have to take antibiotics exactly 12 hours apart?
The general rule is if you are more than 50% of the way toward your next dose, you should skip. So for example, if you are supposed to take your antibiotic every 12 hours, you could take it if it’s less than six hours away from your next scheduled dose.
